Thank you for your booking, if you have any questions do not hesitate to contact us. Shortly you will receive a confirmation email containing a link to add to your diary and one to rearrange your appointment should you need to.
Arrive 15 minutes prior to your float time for a brief orientation – Arrive 5 minutes early for subsequent floats.
The float suite has a private dressing area and shower so there is no need to bring swimwear.
Please bring your own towel, everything else will be provided including shampoo, conditioner, body wash ear plugs and a hair dryer.
Don’t shave or wax before your float – The salt water solution may irritate your skin.
Remove your contacts – Your eyes will be more comfortable without contacts or glasses on.
Eat a small meal prior – It will be easier for your body to rest if you aren’t too full or really hungry.
Don’t drink caffeine before floating – Caffeine is a stimulant and will make it difficult for you to rest and relax.
DO NOT apply make up, moisturizer, perfume or spray tan before coming in for a float.
DO NOT smoke cigarettes just before coming in for a float
DO NOT float if you have applied hair dye in the past 10 days and the colour is not running clear.
With red dye we require waiting 30 days to float.
You cannot float if you have Henna colouring in your hair (or a Henna tattoo).
We’ve found that red dye and Henna can leach out of hair for weeks which can damage our float tanks.
While the feeling of floating is phenomenal, the real benefit is the long tail of effects after you float. When your central nervous system and brain are given a chance to fully, totally relax they do what they naturally always want to do; increase beneficial neurotransmitters such as endorphins, serotonin and dopamine and, decrease “fight or flight” stress chemicals, such as adrenaline and cortisol.
Some floaters describe a state of being “high” right after their float; for others the effect can last up to a week. For many, this adjustment of neurochemistry over time minimises or eliminates symptoms of many chronic conditions.
Check in with your body and mind during the days that follow your float and see how you’re feeling. It’s different for everybody and you are the best judge of how floating is helping you. All it takes is mindfulness.
